The Big Bash Helps Young George

We have this afternoon been to present young George with the push chair you guys and Pisces Angling so very kindly bought for him

We met up with Shelly and a very excited young George at 2pm , we was also joined by Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph who once they heard about what we was doing at the bash couldn’t wait to cover the story, for this we thank them the support the paper gives the bash is just amazing ,

A very shy Georges mum would like to thank every single one of you who agreed to help them, and has promised to help out at the summer fair and any future events we have planned , she said ”

the work you guys do at the Big Bash is just unbelievable , you have changed our life that’s for sure and we owe you a great deal. we still cant really believe there are such kind people out there like you guys”

George with a severe development disability , where as he has the mental and physical aged of a two year old .
his mother had a stroke 3 years ago and is still only in her 30s .only has the use of one eye and is not allowed to drive

on advice from the local hospital specialist she has been advised to purchase a special pushchair for him, this would not only make George more comfortable and safer when out and about but would make life much more easy for his mum and the family as a whole ,

A month ago George had a funny turn and decided to break free from his current pushchair and ran out in to the road and laid down in front of the on coming traffic,
with his mum struggling with her health as ive mentioned it took two other passers bye to get him off the road and back in to his pushchair and strapped in .

George has got Fragile x syndrome http://www.fragilex.org.uk/ you can read all about this from this link

The Big Bash has now decided to set aside £500 each year to help children in a similar position as young George, The funding will be for equipment only and could be split 5 ways , we will seek nominations each Febuary and announce who we will help fund in May each year .
