THE BIGBASH EVENT DETAILS

The BIG BASH hosts a number of events throughout the year.

We started with an annual fishing match which is still our major event but we are now seeing ourselves move into other areas of fund raising including our first live band night.

Several generous individuals have taken part in other sponsored events and donating the money raised to the BIG BASH.

Our latest venture is a charity night with a live band at a local venue and we are hoping this will prove to be very successful and if it is we would like to make these regular events with a couple of nights each year.

As you can see we are very committed to what we do because every penny matters to this great cause.

We are open minded and always welcome new ideas if it will raise money for our charity. If you would like to contact me re an event or a idea for a event then please do not hesitate to do so.

THE BIGGEST CHARITY FISHING MATCH

We traditionally hold a fishing match each May, at Garbolino Lindholme Lakes near Doncaster. The event is now the UK’s biggest angling charity match attracting around 300 anglers.

This event is made even more special due to the popularity it has gained with people travelling from far and wide to attend.

In addition we have a large raffle after the match with prizes valuing around £3000 and plenty of banter along the way.

THE BIGBASH MYSTERY PAIRS CHARITY FISHING MATCH

Due to the popularity of this match we started holding a second angling event towards the back end of the year, usually in October, attracting a further 200 anglers.

This is a match with a difference as it is the BIG BASH mystery pairs match and this is unique in its self. You fish as a pair but you do not know who your partner is until after the match.

This has proved very popular as it gives the pleasure angler the chance to be paired with a world class angler and everyone has a good opportunity to be a winner.

Yet again a massive raffle is held after the match over a beer and plenty of banter.

THE BIGBASH LOCK UP

Previously we have locked up a local business man in Doncaster jail for the day.

He only secured his release using contacts in the trade to raise his bail for the charity and to buy him his freedom.

THE BIGBASH FISH WITH A PRO

We have been fortunate enough to receive donations of a day’s fishing with the great Bob Nudd and 5 times World champion Alan Scotthorne, John Allerton and the star of catching the impossible Martin Bowler…

We have auctioned these through our forum site and the highest bidder spends the day with these great guys.
